![]() ![]() TuneCore is another great option, because it distributes your music for a pretty affordable fee, and they also have a variety of packages available. This DSP is honestly a great option if you’re willing to part with 15% of your proceeds from the track. This works in your favor, because if a track is doing well, you can just pay the fee and reap the rewards on that track, while simply uploading the other tracks that aren’t doing so well for free. The only downside to this platform is that you only receive 85% percent of the profits from each posted track.īut if you’d like to receive 100% of the royalties from your track, all you have to do is pay a fee.Īnd you can decide to do this at anytime. Here’s the complete list of all of the platforms this DSP will post your track to. This DSP will also post your music to 19 other platforms. RouteNote is the only DSP on this list that will post any original music onto Spotify for free. That’s because all of the DSPs listed don’t just upload your music on Spotify, but on several other platforms as well. This may all sound a bit confusing, so to help you find the right DSP, we’ve put together a list with some of our favorites!īy using these websites to get your track uploaded to Spotify, you’re killing quite a few birds with one stone. ![]() Usually, you’ll get approved as long as your music is of good quality or if there’s an audience for it. Luckily, there aren’t a whole lot of people who apply to these DSPs, so your chances of being accepted are higher.Īnd there are also quite a few that will accept all kinds of music! Some DSPs operate on an invitation-only basis, while others require you to fill out an application that will then either be accepted or denied. This might seem like the best option, but while deciding which DSP is right for you, there are some things to keep in mind. So there’s a small chance your fee could pay for itself!Īnd to give you even more budget friendly options, we’ve also included a free DSP in this article. (For more info on how royalties work click here). If you’re not familiar with royalties, they’re the amount of money you’ll receive based on the amount of streams (plays) your song gets. Most of the time, you’ll have to pay a fee.īut the good news is you'll also receive royalties from your song getting played on any streaming platform you upload it to. These companies are fantastic, but there is a catch. A Digital Service Provider is a company which focuses on distributing media - such as your music - to various streaming platforms such as Apple Music, Spotify, and Pandora. In order to get your music onto Spotify, you have to use something called a “DSP”.ĭSP stands for Digital Service Provider. This is because Spotify has no “upload” option available to the common user. Without further ado, here’s how to upload music to Spotify.Īt first glance, uploading music to Spotify as an independent artist can seem overwhelming. So, just by adding your music to this platform, your outreach could improve tremendously. Right now, it’s the third most popular streaming site right now with an impressive 30.4 million monthly unique users. We recommend getting your music onto as many of these top ten streaming services as possible.īut for starters, we’d like to show you how to specifically upload your music to Spotify. To help you get a better scope on the situation, we included a chart below that ranks the best streaming platforms. What’s even more shocking is that according to Vetro Analytics, Soundcloud isn’t even the most popular streaming platform. This is becoming more of a reality, since more users are signing up for “premium” accounts and committing to a single streaming service.Īnd the thing is, the people who are using these streaming platforms are usually there to discover new music, which means you could be missing out on thousands of potential fans if you limit which platforms you release on. That’s because the people who use Soundcloud might not be using Spotify and vice versa. Putting your song on only one streaming service is essentially like putting all your eggs in one basket. You’re not distributing your music across different platforms! You upload your masterpiece onto Soundcloud and keep checking the plays, but no matter how long you wait and wait, the track barely gets any plays. You LOVE your new track and are totally confident that you got a viral banger! You’ve spent hours putting your blood, sweat, and tears into a track, and finally, your hard work pays off! Having your music uploaded to multiple platforms can also be beneficial to you, let us explain why! Uploading your music to Spotify isn't as straightforward as uploading it to Soundcloud. This is something we've been asked about a lot recently, and it isn't surprising. "Do you have any resources on how to upload music to Spotify?" ![]()

How it installs: The installation is very straight forward. The filter is specifically manufactured for use as a coolant filter. It contains a large pleated paper element that does the actual filtering. The filter is similar to a large oil filter. It must be installed in this manner, in parallel with the heater cores, not in series. This is why it is called a bypass filter. Thus, a portion of coolant flow to the heater cores bypasses the heater and flows through the coolant filter instead. The filter outflow is in turned tee'ed into the heater core return to the water pump. How it works: The coolant feed to the heater cores is cut into with a tee fitting in order to supply coolant into the filter. The filter I installed is a bypass coolant filter normally installed in big rig diesel trucks that pull semi trailers. At some point in time I will replace my radiator, and want to ensure, to the best of my ability, that I can prevent the new radiator from becoming clogged. So I then decided to install a filter to mitigate the problem. This flush removed all visible sludge from the radiator.Ī year or so later I subsequently noticed more sludge in the radiator. They hooked it up and a massive amount of water came gushing out, soaking the hapless hired help who must have been low man on the totem pole. So, I removed the radiator and took it to a radiator shop and had it flushed with a very high volume radiator flushing setup. The sludge was visible from the radiator fill opening with the coolant drained down to uncover the top of the core.Įxtensive flushing with garden hose and treatment with Prestone radiator cleaner was not at all effective in removing the sludge. Why I did it: A few years ago I noticed that the radiator was partially obstructed with grey sludge. This post contains a summary of the pertinent details from a rather lengthy thread I posted quite a while back that I have condensed here. ![]() ![]() ![]() Vallon's men come by and shoot up the place, with Alex and Jack exchanging fire. Every time a plating protocol is carried out we shall record the what space it was carried out in and if/how many contaminant colonies grow on the plates. However since we would rather not waste time and petri dishes by doing further dedicated experiments to establish the effectiveness of the DIY flowhood, we have marked the 8 spaces in which petri dishes can be placed in the sterile area. Obviously, though this is an incredibly encouraging result, it has not quite proven that the “sterile” work area is indeed sterile. And, apart from the two plates that were furthest away from the filter at the corners of the clean work area, the rest of the plates were completely sterile. In this improved configuration, our controls, where the plating was done outside the clean airflow, were covered in a colourful mosaic of colonies. For attempt 2 we created a raised shelf in front of the filter on which to work, and this lead to success. Our first attempt was somewhat disheartening as the plates that were prepared in the “sterile” zone did infact become contaminated (though less than the controls). The final test was to carry out a dummy plating procedure where the LB agar plates were not inoculated with anything but then incubated for a few days. We tested to see if the air coming out of the filter was indeed laminar using a bit of liquid nitrogen and some water to produce a thick cloud of easily visible moist air. One thing to note was that my attempt to make the box airtight using the spare drain sealant lying around the hackspace didn’t actually work, however this was easily remedied with a bit of tape to seal all the box’s joints properly.įinally, I attached a prefilter and we connected the fan to a power supply and overvolted it a tad to reach the required airflow. And though being located in a hackspace certainly helps with getting this done, this could all be done with very minimal tools should you not have access to a fully kitted out workshop. Now came the assembly, which was essentially just the building of a box. However, after several hours of looking through fans on .uk I managed to a find a beastly 12V DC fan that could handle the pressure drop and still put out enough air for our filter at around a quarter of the price of the squirrel cage blowers. It seems that most people have to resort to squirrel cage blower fans to achieve the kinds of airflow necessary despite the high pressure drop of HEPA filters. Step 2 was where the inimitable EvilMushroom666’s guide lead the way for me and helped me to arrive at the necessary specification of the fan I would have to find. Unfortunately for us Brits, it seems there are far more options in the US than in the UK for reasonably priced HEPA filters, however Jasun Filtration had the Ultima MPW78 18×24 for £100. So step 1 was to find a filter that was reasonably priced and would give a decently sized working area. ![]() In summary, you need to source a fan that is capable of blowing enough air for the size of your filter at the given amount of pressure drop (back pressure) that your filter creates. I found that this guide by EvilMushroom666 explained the maths of figuring out what fan to pair with what filter really well. While the construction side of things is therefore rather simple, the crucial aspect is actually achieving a laminar airflow by pairing a suitable fan with your chosen filter. The design that is popular and that I ended up going with (at least for mk I of the flow hood) is essentially just a box with a fan blowing in one side and the HEPA filter mounted on another side. To come up with the design I did a lot of research and ended up finding some great resources on various psychedelic mushroom growing forums, a surprisingly good resource. The idea of this build being to greatly improve the reliability of the aseptic protocols in our lab. Anyone following me on twitter may have noticed I posted a few pictures of my progress during my build of a simple HEPA filter based laminar flow box (not sure if it’s actually considered a flow hood). ![]() ![]() ![]() I'm also going to stickify this thread and add new sections to this initial post as people ask questions about it.įS2_Open can use the following image formats: NVIDIA DDS PLUGIN FOR GIMP HOW TO Use this whenever you can (except for work-in-progress editing - TGA is better for that purpose). should always have power-of-two dimensions, e.g. to avoid strange issues with older graphics cards, make sure that both height and width dimensions are at or above 16 pixels. uncompressed DDS files can be used when the DXT compression is too hard on the image quality.ĭXT3 and DXT5 compression include an alpha channel DXT1 compression is for files with no alpha channel DXT compression reduces video memory consumption to either 1/6th or 1/4th compared to uncompressed texture of same resolution In other words, recommended minimum resolution is 16x16. u888 for RGB files, u8888 for RGBA files. some effects can also use u555 and u5555 formats.
